Syrian Government Forces' Bus Bombed... At Least 18 Dead
At least 18 people were killed when a government military bus was bombed near Damascus, the capital of Syria.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a monitoring group for the Syrian civil war, reported on the morning of the 13th that a military bus traveling on the road in the village of Alsaburah exploded due to an improvised explosive device (IED). According to the Observatory, at least 18 government soldiers were killed and 27 were injured in the attack. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

In Syria, explosions presumed to be carried out by remnants of the Islamic State (IS), an Islamic Sunni extremist terrorist organization, have been frequent. In June, a bus was attacked by armed militants in Raqqa province in the north, killing 13 people including soldiers.
