View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Education Committee of the Jeonnam Provincial Council has embarked on active communication efforts to resolve current issues in Jeonnam education.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Council on the 12th, the Education Committee held consecutive meetings to exchange opinions on educational issues, starting with the Jeonnam Office of the National Public Officials Labor Union on the 5th, followed by officials from the Jeonnam branch of the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union on the 12th, and executives from three parent organizations in Jeonnam.
The meetings were organized to facilitate communication between the Education Committee and education-related organizations regarding current issues in Jeonnam education and to discuss joint response measures.
The discussions covered topics such as ▲reduction of teacher quotas ▲implementation of a 20-student cap per class ▲and the outcomes of innovation schools.
In particular, the Education Committee strongly expressed opposition to the government's plan to reduce teacher quotas.
Chairman Jo Ok-hyun of the Education Committee stated, “During the October session of the Provincial Council, the Education Committee will propose a resolution urging opposition to the reduction of teacher quotas,” adding, “We will strongly respond together with the educational community by visiting the Ministry of Education and forming alliances with other provincial councils.”

He continued, “To enable our children to realize their dreams in a better educational environment, the wisdom and cooperation of various educational communities are necessary,” and added, “The council will do its best to prepare policy alternatives so that valuable opinions from the field can serve as nourishment for the development of Jeonnam education.”
