According to the legal community on the 12th, the Ministry of Justice submitted a mid-year ad hoc organizational request to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 30th of last month, focusing on formalizing the Joint Investigation Unit.
The Ministry of Justice's move to formalize the Joint Investigation Unit is interpreted as an effort to enhance operational stability and avoid restrictions on prosecutor appointments through regular personnel changes or budget allocations.
In April, the Ministry of Justice also requested the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to formalize the predecessor of the Joint Investigation Unit, the Securities Crime Investigation Cooperation Unit, but the Ministry of the Interior and Safety rejected the request, so it has been operating without formal status until now.
The Joint Investigation Unit is currently investigating various financial crimes, including the Terra and Luna incidents.
