Gyeongnam Province Conducts Preventive Education for Senior Officials
Park Wansu, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, along with heads of departments and bureaus at the provincial office, are receiving education on the prevention of sexual harassment and sexual violence.

The training was conducted face-to-face following the mandatory sexual harassment and sexual violence prevention education for high-ranking public officials since 2021.
The training, aimed at strengthening prevention of secondary damage from workplace sexual harassment and sexual violence and fostering a proper gender-equal public service culture, was attended by Governor Park Wansu and heads of departments and bureaus.
At the training venue, Professor Heo Younghee of the Department of Police Administration at Korea International University gave a lecture titled "The Role and Responsibility of Senior Officials in Creating a Gender-Equal Organizational Culture and a Safe Working Environment."
Professor Heo covered ▲ trends in handling sexual harassment and sexual violence cases ▲ types of secondary damage ▲ responsibilities and roles of senior officials in preventing workplace sexual harassment and sexual violence ▲ prevention of case handling and manuals.
Governor Park urged, "I ask senior public officials themselves to check their gender sensitivity and fulfill their responsibilities and roles in creating a safe working environment and a desirable organizational culture."
An official from the province said, "We are promoting cyber education on the prevention of the four major types of violence for all employees," adding, "We are continuously striving to create a sound public service culture by providing education on prevention of sexual harassment, sexual violence, domestic violence, and prostitution through the internal administrative network."
