KICOX Introduces New Industrial Complex Disaster Safety Management Project in Daegu
Participation in the Korea Safety Industry Expo
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (President Kim Jeong-hwan) announced on the 11th that it will participate in the 8th Korea Safety Industry Expo to promote the new project 'Creating Safe Industrial Complexes that Citizens Can Trust.'
Hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Daegu Metropolitan City, and Gyeongsangbuk-do, the 8th Korea Safety Industry Expo will be held for three days from the 12th to the 14th at EXCO East Hall in Daegu.
Korea Industrial Complex Corporation will operate a promotional booth at the Safety Industry Expo and showcase various demonstration projects for integrated safety management of industrial complexes. First, the 'Safety Zone' demonstration project, which establishes a digital twin control system within the industrial complex to prevent hazardous chemical leaks and fire accidents, will be introduced. The Gumi National Industrial Complex was finally selected as the demonstration target for the Safety Zone. For the 'Hazardous Chemical Leak Zero Safety Zone' demonstration, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation formed a consortium with Spire Technology, Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute, and others, and was selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's research and development (R&D) project. The demonstration will be completed at Gumi Industrial Complex by 2023, and from 2024, it will be expanded to industrial complexes nationwide.
The 'Industrial Complex Safety Service Design Project,' jointly promoted with the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, will also be unveiled. Eight companies located in industrial complexes such as Yeosu, Incheon, Changwon, and Gumi have been selected to promote the safety design infrastructure demonstration project, and through this expo, the development and demonstration of safety design for each company will be introduced for the first time. On the 13th, the 'Industrial Complex Safety Service Design Project Conference' will be held to review the demonstration results and explore development plans.
