According to the Gwangju Fire Headquarters and the Western Police Station on the 8th, at around 6:45 a.m., a report was received that a "4-month-old infant was not breathing" in a second-floor room of a motel in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju.
The infant's parents, both in their early 20s and present in the room, called 119 reporting, "When we woke up, the baby was lying face down and not breathing."
The fire authorities transported the infant, who was in cardiac arrest, to the hospital, but the infant ultimately passed away.
It was reported that the deceased infant had been living in the motel room with the parents, both in their early 20s.
