Gyeonggi-do Hosts 'Hangeul Day Citizen Participation Event' at Uijeongbu Gyeonggi Peace Plaza
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will hold a Gyeonggi residents' participation event at Uijeongbu Gyeonggi Peace Square to celebrate Hangeul Day (October 9).
On the 7th, Gyeonggi Province announced that, in collaboration with Anyang University Korean Language and Culture Center, it will host the "Hangeul, Let's Play!" event over two days on the 8th and 9th. The event will feature various experiential activities such as drawing King Sejong and solving Hangeul puzzles, designed for participants ranging from young children to adults.
Professor Park Cheol-woo, director of the Korean Language and Culture Center at Anyang University, said, "Considering the importance of Hangeul Day, it has been regrettable that it was mainly conducted by a small number of experts and as a state-led event. Through this 2022 Hangeul Day event, 'Hangeul, Let's Play!', I hope that Gyeonggi residents will also recognize the gratitude and significance of Hangeul, and that the Hangeul Day event will establish itself as a festival that everyone can enjoy together."
