Jeju Police Agency and Jeju Metropolitan Dementia Center Join Hands to Prevent Missing Dementia Patients
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Police Agency (Chief Lee Sang-ryul) joined hands with Jeju Metropolitan Dementia Center (Director Park Jun-hyuk) on the 6th to prevent the disappearance of dementia patients.
According to the Jeju Police Agency on this day, through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to strengthen cooperation in distributing wandering detectors to prevent the disappearance of dementia patients and to establish a cooperative system that can quickly respond by sharing information on dementia patients in case of disappearance.
The number of dementia patients in Jeju Province has been continuously increasing since 2019.
There are about 120 reports of missing dementia patients annually in the province, highlighting the need for a close cooperative system between the police and Jeju Metropolitan Dementia Center for the prompt discovery and protection of missing persons.
The Jeju Police Agency stated, "We will continue to promote collaboration with the local community not only to prevent dementia patients but also missing children and others."
