Mokpo Coast Guard Urgently Evacuates 80s Island Resident Complaining of Chest Pain

According to Mokpo Coast Guard Station on the 6th, at around 10:05 a.m. that day, a report was received that resident A (female, in her 80s) on Gwansado Island in Jindo-gun was experiencing severe chest pain and was unable to move, prompting the dispatch of a patrol vessel to the scene.
The Coast Guard met A, who had come out on a village chief’s boat near the waters of Gwansado, transferred her onto a stretcher onto the patrol vessel, and swiftly transported her to the mainland. She arrived at Seomang Port in Jindo-gun at approximately 11:54 a.m. and was handed over to the waiting 119 emergency medical team.
With the Coast Guard’s assistance, A arrived on the mainland and was transferred to a large hospital in Mokpo, where she is currently receiving treatment after undergoing detailed examinations.

A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, “Thanks to the help of the island residents, we were able to quickly transport the emergency patient,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to protect the lives and safety of our maritime family.”
