Damyang-gun Completes 'Life Respect Awareness Education' for Elementary School Students
Targeting 1,321 Students from 5 Elementary Schools
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun Youth Counseling and Welfare Center announced on the 5th that it conducted ‘Life Respect Education’ for 1,321 students from 5 elementary schools over a total of 7 months from March to September to cultivate youth awareness of respecting life.
This education was conducted under the theme ‘Life Around Us That Must Be Protected,’ where students made life masks to provide an opportunity for youth to feel the importance of respecting life.
By educating on how to respond to youth suicide warning signs, the program urged young people that dangerous situations can happen to anyone and that in such cases, they must seek help from people around them and professional institutions.
A student from Damyangnam Elementary School who participated in the education said, “I felt that all living life is precious,” and shared, “It was a meaningful time to learn how I can be the first to help when someone around us is in danger.”
