Korea Toyota Sponsors the '2022 Sejong Kkumnamu Orchestra Regular Concert'
Proceeding with Members of the National Seoul School for the Blind
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The '2022 Sejong Dream Tree Orchestra Regular Concert,' sponsored by Toyota Motor Korea and hosted by Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, will be held at 5 p.m. on the 9th at the Sejong Center M Theater.
Toyota Motor Korea signed a business agreement with Sejong Center for the Performing Arts last year and has been supporting the Sejong Dream Tree Orchestra, an arts education program for children and youth from culturally marginalized groups, as part of its social contribution activities for talent development. In particular, continuous support has been provided to students from the National Seoul School for the Blind, who newly joined the program last year.
At this concert, conductor Byunghwi Jeong will lead performances of various pieces including Schubert's Rosamunde Overture, Edelweiss, and Mamma Mia. Additionally, with oboist Kyungkyun Ryu of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and flutist Seona Jang, they will present Antonio Salieri's Concerto for Flute and Oboe. The orchestra, composed of 79 children and youth members along with students from the National Seoul School for the Blind, has overcome the COVID-19 period and practiced together for eight months, creating an integrated space that breaks down barriers between disabled and non-disabled individuals through music.
