CJ CheilJedang, Haechandle Launches 'Jjickjang'..."Moist Ssamjang Convenient for Dipping"
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] CJ CheilJedang announced on the 5th that it will launch two types of 'Haechandle Jjickjang' Ssamjang and Spicy Ssamjang.
Jjickjang is a product that transforms ssamjang, which is traditionally dipped when wrapping ssam, into a form that is easier to dip. The representative sauce brand 'Haechandle' developed it considering the tastes of the MZ (Millennial + Generation Z) generation and the segmented preferences of consumers.
Jjickjang changes the thick texture of ssamjang into a moist and thin form so that when dipping meat, the sauce does not separate from the meat and adheres sufficiently. The container shape also breaks away from the conventional sauce packaging by adopting a tube form. This was designed with the convenience of consumers enjoying meat during outdoor activities such as camping and traveling in the endemic atmosphere in mind. Most existing sauce products are contained in large rectangular containers, which require separate scooping and are inconvenient.
The new Haechandle Jjickjang Ssamjang contains Haechandle's fermentation secrets to deliver a deeper flavor, while Haechandle Jjickjang Spicy Ssamjang features a spicy taste with various seasonings including red pepper powder. Both products are based on Korean fermented sauces fermented three times, achieving a clean umami flavor.
