Daily Partners Connects Bio Ventures and Pharmaceutical Companies... Supporting Collaboration
From New Drug Developers to Healthcare, Exploring Promising Bio Opportunities
Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Yuhan Corporation, Hanmi Pharmaceutical Step Up as Bio Mentors
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Daily Partners, a bio-specialized venture capital (VC), has rolled up its sleeves to connect bio ventures and pharmaceutical companies during the harsh winter of the bio industry. It is being recognized for properly fulfilling the role of a bio investor despite the challenging market conditions.
According to the industry on the 1st, Daily Partners held the ‘2022 Daily Open Innovation Conference’ on the 29th at the InterContinental Seoul COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to promote win-win cooperation between bio venture companies and domestic pharmaceutical and bio companies. The event aimed to provide business collaboration opportunities between bio ventures with innovative technologies and large domestic pharmaceutical companies and strategic investment institutions.
To support the expansion of the recently frozen bio industry ecosystem, Daily Partners actively utilized its network. They invited ▲Daewoong Pharmaceutical ▲Isu Group ▲HK Inno.N ▲Yuhan Corporation ▲Gradient ▲Huons ▲Hanmi Pharmaceutical ▲LG Electronics ▲KIMCo, and continued one-on-one meetings between bio ventures and these companies. This naturally set the stage for business collaboration discussions.
Bio ventures participating included promising companies from various fields ranging from new drug development to healthcare, such as GenEdit, Galaxy, DeepCardio, Rasemia, Rokit Healthcare, Linksolutech, Mirimjin, BioOrchestra, Selemedi, StemMeditech, Areum Therapeutics, Onions, AM Science, MDmune, Mthera Pharma, Y-BioLogics, GI Cell, Kainogen, Primoris, Hisense Bio, and Huino.
Pharmaceutical companies and strategic investment institutions expect to revitalize the bio industry by growing alongside bio ventures whose growth potential and capabilities have been proven through Daily Partners.
A representative from an SI company participating said, “Unlike other typical IR events, it was good that the event was held in an independent space where joint business could be discussed based on presentations tailored to strategic investment demands, without media exposure, focusing on the parts we were curious about.” He added, “Following the conference, we plan to continue follow-up communications regarding strategic investments.”
Another representative stated, “It was an opportunity to directly meet and specifically discuss the cooperation needs of both parties by discussing the development progress of bio ventures and perspectives from the bio industry field.”
Daily Partners will also hold the D’LABS DEMO DAY in December to actively support follow-up investments in bio ventures. They plan to select the 6th batch of D’LABS to discover promising early-stage bio companies and promote early investments and TIPS recommendations.
Previously, Daily Partners acquired an accelerator license in January 2019 and was selected as a TIPS operator in September. Since then, they have focused on supporting early-stage companies in various ways, including strengthening their role as a startup incubator. Companies such as Mthera Pharma, Areum Therapeutics, and Mirimjin, which participated in this event, were secured through TIPS.
Along with this, new investments are also being actively considered. They plan to make investments in promising bio ventures within the year using the remaining blind fund resources. Their goal is to serve as a growth catalyst despite the difficult market conditions.
