Jeju Police Agency Provides 25.2 Million Won in Support to 23 Crime Victims

[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Police Agency announced on the 29th that at the ‘Victim Protection Working Committee’ held on the 28th, it decided to provide living stabilization support funds totaling 25.2 million KRW to 23 crime victims experiencing economic difficulties due to crime.

The support recipients are crime victims who are struggling to make a living due to violent crimes, domestic violence, child abuse, and other crimes and require assistance.

This financial support is funded by the social contribution fund designated and entrusted to the Jeju branch of the Korean Red Cross by Cheonma Co., Ltd. and the Jeju Headquarters of the Korea Racing Authority through a business agreement with the Jeju Police Agency, as well as living expenses provided by the Jeju branch of the Korean Red Cross to victims of violence, and will be deposited into the victims’ personal bank accounts.

Jeju Police Agency also held victim protection working committees in April and June, providing a total of 68.7 million KRW to 41 crime victims, and will continue to cooperate with related organizations to support crime victims in the future.

A Jeju Police official said, “As protectors of the residents, Jeju Police will do their best to safely protect crime victims and socially vulnerable groups,” and added, “We will continuously cooperate with social enterprises and related organizations to enable rapid recovery to daily life through financial support for crime victims.”
