600 Billion Invested: Groundbreaking for Yongin Farm&Forest Town in 2024
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The 'Yongin Farm&Forest Town,' a complex facility developed with an investment of 60 billion KRW, will break ground in January 2024.
Yongin City announced on the 29th that it recently designated the 'Yongin Farm&Forest Town' project area as a rural tourism and recreation complex to expedite land acquisition and proceed with construction as originally planned.
The city has held resident briefings, basic planning, and detailed design project kickoff meetings. So far, it has secured 15 billion KRW and completed compensation for about 37% of the total land.
'Yongin Farm&Forest Town' is a project to create a complex facility with experience programs, accommodations, and a local agricultural specialty product sales center by investing approximately 60 billion KRW in the area of 224-3 Baekam-ri, Baekam-myeon, Cheoin-gu. The total area reaches 166,537㎡, equivalent to the size of 23 soccer fields.
The city expects 'Yongin Farm&Forest Town' to significantly contribute to revitalizing the local economy as a stay-type complex tourist destination that combines the advantages of Yongin Natural Recreation Forest and rural theme parks.

A city official emphasized, "We are preparing to transform Yongin Farm&Forest Town into a refined tourist destination with leisure and lodging," adding, "We will do our best to establish tourism infrastructure befitting the 1.1 million residents of Yongin."
