Suncheon City Women's Association Leads the Spread of Carbon Neutrality Practice Culture

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Suncheon City Women's Association Council (President Choi Kyung-hee) held a Carbon Neutrality Practice Rally on the 27th at Jangdae Park and the Araetjang area to spread the culture of practicing carbon neutrality by 2050, a global solution to the climate crisis.

At the event, over 100 members from 10 women's organizations participated, pledging to actively engage in carbon neutrality efforts such as reducing the use of plastics, the main cause of global warming and the climate crisis, sharing reusable shopping bags, plogging activities, and environmental supporter initiatives.

Going forward, the Women's Association Council plans to conduct campaigns twice a month at Ujang and Araetjang targeting citizens to promote the culture of practicing carbon neutrality and to request the rerouting of the Gyeongjeon Line electrification project.

Choi Kyung-hee, President of the Suncheon City Women's Association Council, asked citizens to "join the beautiful steps toward saving the Earth and advancing Suncheon as a first-class city."

A Suncheon city official expressed gratitude to the women's organizations, saying, "We hope that the carbon neutrality practice rally led by the women's groups will be an opportunity for Suncheon to be reborn as a first-class city."

Meanwhile, the Suncheon City Women's Association Council has been conducting community contribution activities such as kimchi sharing and bazaars for neighbors in need every year, and has been leading efforts to expand women's social participation by purchasing admission tickets and donating funds for the successful hosting of the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo.
