The training is a legally mandated education conducted under the Industrial Safety and Health Act, and those appointed as safety and health management officers must complete the relevant job training within three months.
According to Gyeongnam Province, the safety and health management officers in the province are the governor, the fire headquarters chief, the director of the Agricultural Technology Center, and the director of the Forest Environment Research Institute.
On this day, Governor Park Wansu, Deputy Governor Choi Manrim, Economic Deputy Governor Kim Byungkyu, and heads of departments and bureaus attended and received practical training to prevent major accidents.
The training covered ▲ the background of the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act ▲ obligations to ensure workplace safety and health ▲ duties and roles of safety management officers ▲ accident cases by workplace ▲ types of accidents and prevention measures.
The province announced that through the organizational restructuring in August, it established the Major Accident Prevention Division to fulfill legal obligations such as risk assessment, regular inspections in the first half of the year, and the establishment of a safety and health management system.
By the end of this year, it plans to support safety and health management system consulting for private workplaces and produce and distribute a standard manual.

We will support education and promotion in the private sector to prevent major accidents and strive to create a safe Gyeongnam.”
