LG Uplus Develops eSIM Applying Quantum-Resistant Encryption and Physical Cloning Prevention
Development with Security Specialist ICTK Holdings
Connecting B2B Devices and Services Requiring Strong Security
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] LG Uplus announced on the 26th that it has developed an eSIM (embedded Subscriber Identity Module) applying quantum-resistant cryptography (PQC) technology and physical unclonable function (PUF) in collaboration with security specialist company ICTK Holdings.
The PQC PUF-eSIM is impossible to decrypt even with quantum computers, allowing secure storage of key data such as security keys and certificates. The company explained that vehicles equipped with this product can build a robust authentication system on the service platform, providing personalized subscription services through individual authentication for each occupant.
Lee Jung-won, CEO of ICTK Holdings, said, "PQC, a next-generation security technology, has mainly been applied to large devices such as transmission equipment, but this development confirmed that it can also be used in general small devices."
