Gwangju Seo-gu Successfully Hosts 'Barefoot Walking Event' at Pungam Lake Park
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Yi-gang) successfully concluded the '2022 Barefoot Walking Forest Healing School' around Pungam Lake Park on the 21st.
According to Seo-gu on the 22nd, this event was promoted to publicize the Seo-gu barefoot walking trail and raise residents' awareness of barefoot walking, as the benefits of barefoot walking have become widely known nationwide, sparking a barefoot walking craze and spreading the practice of barefoot walking in daily life.
The event, held for about 40 Seo-gu residents with walking instructors active as members of the Seo-gu Walking Promotion Team and visiting walking education instructors, provided education and practical training to help participants understand the correct posture and effects of barefoot walking.
A Seo-gu Public Health Center official said, "We will strive to steadily expand the barefoot walking project so that many Seo-gu residents can have healing and restorative time through barefoot walking."
Meanwhile, Seo-gu has significantly contributed to promoting barefoot walking practice by holding a signing ceremony with the Barefoot Walking Citizens Movement Headquarters, conducting barefoot walking education, operating barefoot walking challenges, and forming the Seo-gu Barefoot Walking Club (Barefoot Road Seo-gu!).
