[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] The "Korean duo" Kim Joo-hyung (20) and Lee Kyung-hoon (31) will team up at the Presidents Cup.

The Presidents Cup organizing committee, which hosts the intercontinental golf competition between the U.S. team and the International team excluding Europe, announced the foursomes (two players alternating shots with one ball) pairings on the first day of the tournament held on the 21st (local time) at Quail Hollow Club (par 71, 7,521 yards) in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. Making their Presidents Cup debut, Kim Joo-hyung and Lee Kyung-hoon will face off against Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young in the 3rd match.

In the 2nd match, Im Sung-jae (24) teams up with Corey Conners (Canada) to take on Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas. In the 4th match, Kim Si-woo (27) pairs with Cameron Davis (Australia) to compete against world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns in a battle of pride. In the 1st match, Adam Scott (Australia) and Hideki Matsuyama (Japan) face Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, while in the 5th match, Taylor Pendrith (Canada) and Mito Pereira (Chile) go head-to-head with Tony Finau and Max Homa.

The tournament has been held 13 times so far, with the U.S. team dominating with 11 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. In the previous event in 2019, the U.S. team, captained by "Golf Emperor" Tiger Woods, won 16-14, marking their eighth consecutive victory. On the second day, there will be five four-ball matches (each player plays their own ball and the better score counts), followed by four four-ball matches in the morning and four foursomes in the afternoon on the third day, and 12 singles matches on the final day to determine the overall winner. A win earns 1 point, and a tie earns 0.5 points.
