Gwangju Seo-gu Launches 'Dementia Awareness Improvement Campaign' at Subway Stations
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Yi-gang) announced on the 20th that it conducted a 'Dementia Awareness Improvement Campaign' in celebration of Dementia Overcoming Week.
This campaign was prepared to reduce negative perceptions of dementia among local residents and to create a dementia-friendly environment where people can live together, in observance of Dementia Overcoming Week (September 19 to September 23).
In collaboration with Gwangju Urban Railway Corporation, the campaign was held at subway stations with high foot traffic, distributing brochures and dementia self-diagnosis checklists along with information on the Dementia Safety Center projects and awareness improvement promotions.
A Seo-gu official stated, "Through the campaign held in commemoration of Dementia Overcoming Day (September 21), we aim to build a consensus for overcoming dementia and create a Seo-gu where elderly people with dementia can live with peace of mind."
