Jeju Fire Station Conducts Special Rescue Training for Mountain Accident Preparedness
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Jeju Fire Station (Chief Go Jae-woo) announced on the 20th that it recently conducted special rescue training for 24 119 rescue team members belonging to Jeju Fire Station over the past three days to prepare for mountain accidents.
This training was prepared to respond to mountain disappearance, distress, and lost incidents due to the increase in autumn hikers.
The training included search and rescue exercises using national point numbers and GPS receivers to prepare for lost persons, patient transport training using mountain stretchers, backpack-type stretchers, and SKED stretchers, and wide-area search and rescue training using fire drones and rescue dogs.
A Jeju Fire Station official said, "As the number of autumn hikers increases, mountain safety accidents are expected to rise. Through this training, we will enhance the capabilities of rescue team members to carry out prompt rescue activities in case of accidents."
