Magnitude 7.6 Earthquake Strikes Mexico Pacific Coast... Tsunami Warning Issued
[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] At around 1:05 PM on the 19th (local time), a magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurred near Paracita de Morelos in Michoacan, western Mexico.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter was at 18.20 degrees north latitude and 103.40 degrees west longitude, with a depth of 15 km. It occurred on the Pacific coast, 475 km west of Mexico City.
The earthquake was initially reported as magnitude 7.5, but Mexican seismologists later revised it to a magnitude 7.6 strong earthquake.
