22,209 Applicants for 3,787 Positions... High Competition in Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine Departments
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University announced on the 19th that from September 13 to 17, 2023, until 7 p.m., a total of 22,209 applicants applied for 3,787 spots in the 2023 academic year early admission, recording a competition rate of 5.86 to 1.
According to the university admissions office, within the quota, 20,874 applicants applied for 3,496 spots, resulting in a competition rate of 5.97 to 1, while outside the quota, 1,335 applicants applied for 291 spots, with a competition rate of 4.59 to 1.
By admission type, the student record comprehensive social integration screening had the highest competition rate at 13.33 to 1, followed by the practical skills screening at 8.71 to 1.
The department with the highest competition rate was the Department of Pharmacy under the student record curriculum general screening, with 267 applicants for 8 spots, resulting in a competition rate of 33.38 to 1.
Next was the Department of Veterinary Medicine under the student record comprehensive general screening, with 127 applicants for 5 spots, showing a competition rate of 25.40 to 1.
Gyeongsang National University plans to announce the first-stage successful candidates for early admission on November 18. This applies to the student record comprehensive general screening (College of Social Sciences, College of Education, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy), regional talent screening (College of Medicine), basic livelihood security recipients screening (College of Medicine), and rural students screening (College of Medicine).
Interview evaluations will be conducted for the first-stage successful candidates. The Colleges of Social Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and Pharmacy will hold interviews on November 24, while the Colleges of Education, Medicine, and Nursing will conduct interviews on November 25.

Applicants for practical skills screening in the College of Education (Departments of Music, Fine Arts, Physical Education) and the Headquarters College II (Department of Human Healthcare) must check the practical exam schedule on November 23 and 24. Applicants who do not attend the practical exam or interview will be disqualified.
