Yeosu-si Selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's '2023 Rural Medical Service Improvement Project' Competition
‘Udu Health Center’, ‘Juklim Health Living Support Center’... 2 Projects Receive 2.09 Billion KRW in National Funding
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced on the 19th that its ‘2023 Rural Medical Service Improvement Project’ submitted to the Ministry of Health and Welfare has been selected for the ‘Wudu Health Promotion Health Center New Construction Project’ and the ‘Juklim Health Living Support Center Establishment Project.’
With this selection, Yeosu City will receive a total of 2.09 billion KRW in national funding, including 930 million KRW for the ‘Wudu Health Promotion Health Center New Construction Project’ and 1.16 billion KRW for the ‘Juklim Health Living Support Center Establishment Project.’
The Rural Medical Service Improvement Project is a project to expand the infrastructure of rural health care institutions to guarantee the health rights of local residents and improve the level of health care services.
The ‘Wudu Health Promotion Health Center’ will operate specialized services such as home health care and dementia management in addition to the existing medical services (Western medicine, Korean medicine) and chronic disease management projects, targeting vulnerable groups and the elderly in Dolsan-eup, where conditions are poor.
The ‘Juklim Health Living Support Center’ will operate specialized services such as maternal and infant care and a branch of the dementia relief center, based on health living practice projects for residents in the Sora-myeon area, where the population continues to increase.
In particular, this selection is expected to boost the ‘Juklim Administrative Complex New Construction Project,’ which will build a health living support center, a branch office, and a residents’ autonomy center together in the Juklim-ri area of Sora-myeon.
A city official said, “With this selection, we will be able to provide improved medical services to residents in the Dolsan and Sora areas. We will continue to strive to create a healthier Yeosu by expanding rural health care institutions.”
