View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] LG Uplus announced on the 19th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LDT, an IoT solution specialist company, to strengthen its smart factory competitiveness related to fire and work safety.
LDT is a specialized company providing IoT sensor-based solutions in the fields of fire safety, logistics, and security. Its self-developed smart early fire detection device has been installed and is operating in more than 40,000 locations nationwide. The smart early fire detection device detects fire causes through an IoT-based wireless composite fire sensor and sends fire alarms after passing through a non-fire alarm filtering algorithm.
LDT’s smart early fire detection device is the only one nationwide that can detect all four types of fire elements. The basic elements for detecting fire are three: flame, smoke, and temperature. Among these, temperature is further divided into two environments: a high-temperature environment above 50 degrees Celsius and an environment where a temperature difference of more than 15 degrees occurs within 15 minutes, making a total of four types. LG Uplus explained that most IoT fire detection sensors on the market can detect only one or two fire elements.
LDT will take charge of manufacturing, supplying, and technical support in the fire and worker safety management fields within LG Uplus’s smart factory solutions. With increased interest in fire detection and safety management solutions following the enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act in January this year, both companies expect their cooperation to create synergy in expanding smart factory construction.
Seo Jae-yong, Executive Director of LG Uplus Smart Factory Business, said, "Through LDT’s unique technology, LG Uplus’s smart factory solutions have gained additional competitiveness," and added, "We will continue to cooperate with LDT to ensure that fire and safety accidents are perfectly prevented in our customers’ factories."
