[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) announced on the 14th that it held the 'KCCI Youth Supporters Launch Ceremony' at the Sangyohui Building in Jung-gu, Seoul.
According to KCCI, 100 Gen Z youth supporters with an average age of 21.8 will play a role in proposing promotional ideas for key projects promoted by the economic sector, producing related content, and spreading so-called "word of mouth" through social media.
Chairman Choi Tae-won also attended the launch ceremony. Chairman Choi urged them to come up with many ideas for attracting the Expo and to participate sincerely.
KCCI also revealed plans to expand the youth supporters into a global supporter group of about 30,000 people by using the energy of the youth supporters as a catalyst. First, they plan to create an Expo attraction support platform through social media to continuously receive opinions from individuals and organizations who are sincere about or have ideas for attracting the Expo, regardless of age, occupation, or nationality.
KCCI stated, "It is true that public interest in attracting the 2030 Expo is not yet sufficient," and added, "Supporters from diverse backgrounds and thoughts will gather to discuss 'Why should it be the Korea Expo?'"
At the launch ceremony, lively and unique ideas characteristic of Gen Z poured out regarding the Expo and other key KCCI projects. The youth who faced Chairman Choi proposed so-called "insider" challenge items as winning strategies for the Expo, such as dance challenges with celebrities, MBTI-based Busan attractions, and AR photo booths at overseas landmarks. They also presented weighty ideas about creating global discussion groups with overseas youth to build worldwide consensus on the Expo agenda.
