Kakao Revamps 'Kakao Business Seminar'... "Co-Growth with Small Business Partners"
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Kakao is strengthening its educational programs for small business partners.
On the 13th, Kakao announced that it will revamp its online business education program, 'Kakao Business Seminar,' to enhance accessibility and convenience, and introduce various customized programs.
The Kakao Business Seminar is an educational program that introduces Kakao's advertising and business platforms such as Kakao Bizboard and KakaoTalk Channel, and provides necessary information and know-how for business. So far, the total number of applicants has reached about 72,000, with more than 90% being small business owners.
Kakao switched the education, which was previously conducted face-to-face, to an online format from September 2020 to allow more partners easy access, and currently operates about 20 lectures monthly on a regular basis. Since April, it has expanded topics to include tax, successful startup cases, branding, and added new lectures that provide practical help.
With this revamp, Kakao will strengthen partner support by introducing ▲VOD seminars ▲playbooks in PDF format ▲business support programs.
The VOD seminars allow participants to select pre-produced video lectures and watch them anytime, anywhere. To help all business partners participating in the seminars better understand, playbooks in PDF format are also provided. The 30 or so playbooks are composed as conversational tutorials so that anyone can easily and quickly utilize Kakao's business platforms, and can be used together with the VOD seminars.
Additionally, Kakao plans to launch within the year a support program that provides free Kakao Moment cash to partners who achieve step-by-step set goals, enabling them to continuously grow by utilizing Kakao's advertising, services, and business platforms.
Meanwhile, from the 7th to the 26th, Kakao is conducting an online contest themed on cases and success stories of directly using Kakao's advertising, services, and business platforms in business. Any business owner who has used KakaoTalk Channel, Kakao Moment, etc. in their business within the past year can participate through the website, with preference given to those who have taken the Kakao Business Seminar.
Kakao will select one grand prize winner and 19 excellence winners, providing a total of approximately 29 million KRW worth of Kakao Moment free cash. An offline award ceremony will be held in October for the selected businesses, along with a networking event to facilitate communication.
