Baemin Launches 'Participation Plaza' for Surveys and Comments on BaeminSajangnimGwangjang Site
Nearly half of the delivery restaurants are operating without any holidays during this year’s Chuseok holiday. On the 10th, Woowa Brothers (CEO Kim Beom-jun), the operator of Baemin (Baedal Minjok), revealed the results of a survey on planned holidays conducted ahead of the Chuseok holiday on the ‘Participation Plaza’ page of the Baemin Shop Owners Plaza site.
In this survey conducted from the 23rd of last month to the 7th of this month targeting restaurant owners, 43.6% (1,240 out of 2,842 respondents) answered that "there will be no holidays during this Chuseok holiday." Following that, 35.7% (1,016 respondents) chose "closed only on Chuseok day." Those who said "closed for the entire Chuseok holiday" accounted for 20.6% (586 respondents).
Many comments on the survey mentioned, "Since it is a neighborhood commercial area, the holiday period is a peak season every year, so it is difficult to take a break." It is analyzed that the relatively short holiday period also influenced the decision to operate normally. Other comments included various opinions from restaurant owners such as, "I will spend Chuseok making good memories with my family after a long time," and "Since this is the first holiday since opening the store, I will operate on reduced hours and observe the atmosphere." A Baemin official advised, "If you notify customers of any changes in store hours during the holiday through the store notice within the Baemin app, it will be more effective in customer service."
The Participation Plaza on the Baemin Shop Owners Plaza site, where this survey was conducted, has become a lively communication platform where various surveys and comments allow active exchange of opinions. New surveys are posted daily, and small business owners in the food service industry can freely vote and share knowledge through comments.
For example, a question about how to handle regular customers who arrive at closing time saw participation from a total of 2,896 owners. Among them, 57% (1,651) answered that "closing time must be strictly observed," while the remaining 43% (1,245) said "orders should be accepted if they are regular customers."
In another survey asking about the most effective method to get rid of flying insects, out of 1,288 respondents, 38.7% (606) answered that "pouring hot water down the drain" was the most effective. Meanwhile, 21.3% (334) chose "calling a pest control company."
Woowa Brothers plans to further develop Baemin Shop Owners Plaza to enable owners to share information and interact in line with the rapidly changing food service industry environment by enhancing high-quality content that helps food service workers. Beyond simple information delivery, by strengthening the community aspect, the number of content users on the Baemin Shop Owners Plaza site increased by 187% as of the end of July this year compared to October last year.
