Pohang City Temporarily Waives Illegal Parking Fines from September 5 to 8
No Parking Violation Fines for 4 Days to Alleviate Resident Inconvenience and Ensure Swift Recovery
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City will temporarily exempt illegal parking fines for four days from September 5 to 8, considering the road traffic situation damaged by Typhoon No. 11 ‘Hinnamnor’.
According to the city, during the fine exemption period (September 5?8), fines that would have been imposed on vehicles violating parking regulations through fixed CCTV, mobile CCTV, and resident reporting systems will not be charged. The city plans to concentrate all administrative efforts to minimize inconvenience to residents in the affected areas and to expedite recovery.
Currently, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the city is conducting on-site investigations, guidance, and towing of flooded vehicles in cooperation with related organizations such as traffic volunteer groups, private organizations, and the North and South Police Stations to ensure smooth road traffic during the holiday through rapid recovery.
In addition, efforts are being made to promptly repair traffic signal facilities that were turned off or damaged due to the typhoon’s impact, and signal cycles are being adjusted at major intersections with concentrated traffic in the city to alleviate traffic congestion.
