Yeosu City Conducts Welfare Facility Visits to Wish a Happy Chuseok
Visited 500 Low-Income Households and 62 Social Welfare Facilities, Delivered Holiday Gifts
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeonnam Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that since the 29th of last month, it has been conducting Chuseok greeting activities targeting low-income households and social welfare facilities within the city.
On the 5th, Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong visited social welfare facilities Dongbaekwon, Ganahun, Jindallae Village, and Geumgangwon to encourage the staff and convey warm feelings to the residents of the facilities.
Mayor Jeong said, "Although we are going through a difficult time due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, warm interest and care for vulnerable groups are especially needed during hard times," adding, "I hope more people will participate in sharing, and the city will do its best so that all citizens can have a rich and happy Chuseok holiday."
Yeosu City plans to have the mayor, senior officials, and heads of towns and townships directly visit 500 low-income households and 62 social welfare facilities by the 8th, delivering consolation gifts worth approximately 53.2 million won, including Yeosu gift certificates, local specialties, and rice, while checking on their Chuseok well-being.
