Samsung Heavy Industries Secures Order for 4 LNG Carriers... Achieves 82% of Annual Target
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 6th that it has received orders for two LNG (liquefied natural gas) carriers each from a Bermuda-based shipping company and an Africa-based shipping company.
The total order amount for the four vessels is 1.1651 trillion KRW, and these ships are scheduled to be delivered sequentially by September 2025.
With this contract, Samsung Heavy Industries' cumulative orders this year increased to 37 vessels worth 7.2 billion USD, achieving 82% of the annual target of 8.8 billion USD.
So far this year, it has secured orders for a total of 28 LNG carriers (6.1 billion USD), focusing on high value-added vessels.

A Samsung Heavy Industries official stated, "Strong market demand for LNG carriers is expected to continue for the time being," and added, "We plan to continue additional orders focusing on profitable projects."
