Yoonho Choi, CEO of HCA, told reporters that HCA's focus is on large home appliances and the Internet of Things (IoT), with the goal of energy savings. This year, they aim to complete app integration and achieve energy savings by next year.
For example, when a dishwasher is turned on via the integrated app, dishwashers from all 13 affiliated companies operate simultaneously. They plan to integrate data such as energy savings and usage in the future.
CEO Choi said, "Our goal this year is 'Any app any device,' meaning any appliance can be used from any app," adding, "The objective is to reduce energy consumption of large home appliances including air conditioning, which accounts for 60-70% of the energy used in consumers' homes."
Currently, HCA includes 13 brands such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Electrolux, Haier, and Arcelik. It covers 15 product categories and 42 functions. All 13 companies are founding members, with representatives such as Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jonghee Han and LG Electronics President Jo Joo-wan participating.

Whirlpool, Bosch, and Panasonic are in talks to join. The goal is 'interoperability of home appliances among major corporations.' If successful, it will enable operation and control of other companies' products through each company's home appliance platforms like Samsung SmartThings and LG ThinQ.
