Jungjingong Partners with Korean Air and DHL to Support Exporting SMEs... Reducing Logistics Cost Burden
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 2nd that it has partnered with national airlines and international express delivery companies to support air transportation in order to alleviate the logistics burden of export SMEs.
On the same day, SBC signed a "Business Agreement for Cooperation in Supporting Air Transportation for Export SMEs" with Korean Air. Until the end of this year, they plan to provide a dedicated space of up to approximately 12 tons per week for SMEs on two routes, Incheon-Hong Kong and Incheon-Hanoi, along with discounted freight rates.
The Hong Kong and Hanoi routes are high-demand areas, ranking 1st and 3rd respectively in air cargo export performance by domestic companies. They serve as gateways to southern China and Southeast Asia, as well as global export hubs. Through this support, it is expected to meet the cargo demand of export SMEs in preparation for increased freight volume in the second half of the year and contribute to logistics stabilization.
Additionally, SBC is operating a special international express delivery discount program with DHL for e-commerce small shippers until the end of the year. This aims to reduce logistics costs for online export SMEs that mainly handle small quantities of various products.
Kim Moon-hwan, Head of SBC’s Global Growth Division, stated, "While demand for air transportation is increasing due to the expansion of the online export market, many SMEs are struggling with rising transportation costs. Through this support, we will actively back online export SMEs to alleviate their logistics burden and maintain export growth."
