Prosecution Seeks 1-Year Prison Sentence for Baek Eun-jong Over Defamation of Former KMA President Choi Dae-jip

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The prosecution has demanded prison sentences for Baek Eun-jong, CEO of Seoul Voice, and other related individuals who were indicted for slandering and verbally abusing Choi Dae-jip, former president of the Korean Medical Association.
On the 31st of last month, Judge Jang Eun-young of the Seoul Western District Court Criminal Division 1 held a trial session for Baek Eun-jong, CEO of Seoul Voice, who is charged with obstruction of business and trespassing. During the trial, the prosecution requested a one-year prison sentence for CEO Baek and six months each for reporter Lee Myung-soo and former reporter Kim.
CEO Baek is accused of verbally abusing and shouting slanderous remarks at former president Choi at the Korean Medical Association building in March 2020. At that time, Baek accused Choi by saying, "Ilbe members dismantled the COVID-19 Pan-Medical Committee."
Subsequently, Baek filmed the incident and uploaded three posts on YouTube titled "Retaliatory Coverage of Korean Medical Association’s Choi Dae-jip... 'Even Doctors Are Being Branded as Communists!'"
