Kim Young-ok, Planning Director of the Development Institute, stated, “DARPA is a transformative research innovation model benchmarked worldwide and is emerging as a powerful alternative to solve health and medical challenges, including health security, centered on leading countries such as the U.S. and the U.K. In the post-COVID-19 era, Korea’s health and medical R&D policy must also shift toward mission-oriented and challenging directions. We hope this will be a valuable opportunity to gather the experiences and wisdom of experts from various countries to prepare a desirable Korean-style ARPA-H policy.”
