On the 31st, Hanwha announced that the "Seoul World Fireworks Festival with Hanwha" will take place on October 8.
The Seoul World Fireworks Festival is considered one of the three major fireworks festivals in Korea, along with the Pohang Firelight Festival (September 23?25) and the Busan Fireworks Festival (November 5). With the decision to hold the Seoul World Fireworks Festival this year, all three major fireworks festivals will be held for the first time in three years. None of the three festivals have been held since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year's Seoul World Fireworks Festival will be held in the same location as the 2019 event, around the Yeouido Hangang Park area in Seoul (from Mapo Bridge to Hangang Railroad Bridge). Three countries, including Korea, Italy, and Japan, will participate.
A Hanwha official said, "We are planning a fireworks show that conveys messages of comfort and encouragement to people weary from COVID-19," adding, "Like fireworks soaring powerfully into the sky, we will cooperate with related organizations such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government to prepare a safe and enjoyable festival that gives people the strength and courage to rise again."
