Biden and Trump Head to Pennsylvania, Rallying Their Supporters
[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joselgina] U.S. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will both visit Pennsylvania, a key 'swing state,' this week ahead of the November midterm elections. They are making efforts to rally their support bases in this crucial battleground.
According to the White House, President Biden will visit Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on the 30th (local time) to deliver a speech on gun control issues. The visit was originally scheduled for July but was postponed after President Biden tested positive for COVID-19.
Two days later, on the 1st of next month, he is scheduled to give a speech on the crisis of democracy in Philadelphia, the capital of Pennsylvania. Then, on the 5th of the same month, which is Labor Day and the start of the midterm election campaign, he will visit Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to support Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman’s campaign.
Former President Trump will also visit Pennsylvania on September 3rd to support Republican primary winner Governor Doug Mastriano and Senate candidate Mehmet Oz. This will be Trump’s first public political activity since the FBI’s search of his Florida residence.

Pennsylvania, visited by both current and former presidents, is a traditional swing state and a decisive battleground that has determined election outcomes in major elections. It is also President Biden’s home state. However, recent public opinion in these areas has worsened for President Biden and the Democratic Party, leading to predictions of a Republican advantage. ABC News reported, "It is increasingly difficult to predict which party, Democratic or Republican, will win the November midterm elections," adding, "As the situation becomes uncertain, it is expected that key leaders from both parties will frequently visit Pennsylvania."
