[Box Office] Lee Jung-jae's 'Hunt' Tops Weekend with 361,000 Admissions... Strong Showing for '육사오'
'Hansan: The Emergence of the Dragon' Surpasses 7 Million Viewers
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actor Lee Jung-jae's directorial debut film 'Hunt' maintained its position at the top of the weekend box office.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system, over the past weekend (26th-28th), 'Hunt' attracted 369,917 viewers, securing the number one spot at the box office. Its revenue share was 33.0%. Since its release on the 10th, the film has recorded a cumulative audience of 3,720,101.
The comedy 'Yuksa-o' (directed by Park Gyutae), starring Ko Kyung-pyo and Lee Yi-kyung, which opened on the 24th, started strong in second place with 355,941 viewers. The difference from 'Hunt' was just about 14,000 viewers, with a revenue share of 31.6%.
'Hansan: Rising Dragon' (directed by Kim Han-min), depicting Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Battle of Hansan, attracted 157,602 viewers, ranking third. Since its release on the 27th of last month, the film has steadily drawn audiences through word of mouth, surpassing a cumulative audience of 7,004,983.
'Top Gun: Maverick,' starring Tom Cruise and released on June 22, still ranked fourth with 60,564 viewers despite being out for over two months. Its cumulative audience stands at 7,974,002.
Brad Pitt's 'Bullet Train,' released on the 24th, ranked fifth, while the Japanese animation 'Demon Slayer: Asakusa Arc,' released on the 25th, took eighth place. Joachim Trier's new film 'The Worst Person in the World,' released on the same day, entered the top ten at tenth place.

The total number of moviegoers over the weekend was 1,136,233, a decrease of about 380,000 from the previous week’s 1.51 million.
