Reduction of Cadastral Survey Fees for Flood Victims... Full Waiver for Houses, 50% for Commercial Properties
On the 29th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it will reduce the fees for cadastral surveying conducted to repair damage caused by the heavy rains from August 8 to 17 for two years from the date of declaration of the special disaster area.
This measure aims to alleviate the economic burden on residents who suffered damage such as destruction or loss of residential houses due to the heavy rains by reducing the cadastral surveying fees necessary for rebuilding or reconstructing their homes.
In addition to the 10 local governments (8 cities/counties/districts and 2 towns/townships/neighborhoods) initially declared as special disaster areas by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on August 22, the same reduction will apply for two years to any additional areas declared.
To receive the cadastral surveying fee reduction benefit, a damage confirmation certificate detailing the damage caused by the heavy rains must be submitted to the mayor, county governor, district head, or town/township chief of the location of the damaged facility.
After the damage is confirmed, the surveying fee reduction benefit can be received based on the 'damage confirmation certificate.'
For residential houses, 100% of the cadastral surveying fees will be waived, and for non-residential houses such as stores, commercial or agricultural facilities, or when cadastral surveying is conducted to verify boundaries or current status for damage recovery, 50% of the cadastral surveying fees will be waived.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation have been providing cadastral surveying fee reductions for citizens affected by natural disasters such as wildfires, heavy snow, typhoons, and earthquakes.
