Current SM Entertainment Senior Holds 'Career Mentoring'... Seoul City Conducts 'Cheongchun Job Talk' with 50 Youths
7 Employees Volunteers and 50 Youth Matched in Small Groups for 90-Minute Mentoring Session
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Volunteer Center announced on the 26th that it conducted career mentoring called ‘Cheongchun Job(talk)’ for 50 young people, together with 7 executives and employees from SM Entertainment Group, to help young people dreaming of careers in artists, music production, and advertising production envision their futures through meetings with senior professionals currently working in the field.
This mentoring was conducted face-to-face to allow for a more immersive and close interaction with the youth. The young participants visited SM Entertainment located in Seongsu-dong in person, experiencing the atmosphere of the workplace from various perspectives and spending time meeting with executive mentors.
The mentoring was held in small groups, with one executive volunteer matched with 6 to 7 young people across 7 job fields for 90 minutes. The youth chose their areas of interest from a total of 7 specialized fields within the entertainment sector, including ?Artist Operations Management, ?A&R, ?Artist Management, ?Advertising Production Art Director, ?Music Distribution at SM Entertainment and SM C&C, as well as ?Public Relations and ?Social Contribution. The mentoring sessions followed the order of ?introductions between mentor and mentees, ?job introduction, environment and outlook, preparation process for job exploration including sharing of executives’ experiences, ?Q&A, and ?sharing messages and impressions for the youth.

Lee Ki-baek, General Manager of the Seoul Volunteer Center, said, "Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, young people have had fewer opportunities to interact with seniors, so I hope this opportunity helped relieve their frustrations about career paths and assisted them in finding their own way." He added, "We will continue to create meaningful meeting opportunities with executive volunteers from various fields."
