These basic guidelines for the 2025 academic year university entrance exams have been finalized.
On the 25th, the University Admission Committee of the Korea Council for University Education established these basic guidelines for university entrance exams. The committee explained, "The qualification criteria for the special admission for adult learners have been set to those aged 30 and above to consider the purpose of the admission, which targets individuals needing differentiated support, and to unify the previously varying standards among universities to minimize confusion among applicants." The inclusion of school violence measures in the special admission for athletes is a response to the plan to eradicate violence in student sports teams and improve the sports human rights protection system. The method of reflection can be autonomously determined by each university.
The committee further explained, "According to the improvement plan, the special admission for athletes will mandatorily reflect not only academic grades and attendance but also 'school violence measures' to ensure the eradication of violence among student athletes, protect their human rights, and guarantee their right to learn."
The schedule for the 2025 academic year university entrance exams has been set with a submission deadline of 10 PM to ensure stable enrollment. The deadline for registration of unfilled spots by each university can be autonomously set within 10 PM.
Meanwhile, the early admission period will be conducted autonomously by universities for at least three days from September 9 to 13, 2024, with the selection period running from September 14 to December 12. The regular admission application period will be autonomously conducted by universities for at least three days from December 31, 2024, to January 3, 2025, with the selection period from January 7 to February 4, 2025.
