[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The world’s first and largest hydrogen industry specialized exhibition, now in its third year, ‘Hydrogen Mobility+ Show,’ has been rebranded as ‘H2 MEET’ and will be held at KINTEX on the 31st. The organizing committee emphasized that this exhibition, with participation from 240 companies and institutions from 16 countries, will establish itself as a leading global hydrogen exhibition.
The H2 MEET Organizing Committee held a press briefing at the Automobile Hall on the 24th to disclose key progress regarding ‘H2 MEET.’
At the briefing, Chairman Jeong Manki introduced, “H2 MEET, now in its third year, has grown quantitatively to become the world’s largest in terms of the number of participating companies, exhibition area, and participation of overseas companies and institutions. With 14 conferences and seminars, and 146 keynote speakers and panelists including 72 foreigners, it has also made significant qualitative progress, marking an important turning point in establishing itself as a global representative hydrogen exhibition.”
This year’s ‘H2 MEET 2022’ will see participation from 240 companies and institutions from 16 countries worldwide, a 56% increase compared to last year. The exhibition area has also expanded by 42% to 19,801m2, and the event will be held in Halls 9 and 10 of KINTEX’s 2nd Exhibition Center, reflecting a significant scale-up in size.
The exhibition will feature 48 companies in hydrogen production sectors such as water electrolysis, carbon capture, and renewable energy. Additionally, 75 companies in hydrogen storage and transportation sectors including hydrogen refueling stations, hydrogen tanks, and hydrogen supply chains, as well as 68 companies in hydrogen utilization sectors such as mobility, fuel cells, steel, and chemical industries, will participate. Alongside these, 49 institutions and organizations including domestic local governments, research institutes, and various embassies will also take part.
The organizing committee explained the key focus areas of this exhibition as ▲Global ▲Tech ▲Networking.
First, the committee invited Canada as the guest country of ‘H2 MEET’ and designated the 1st of next month as ‘Canada Day.’ Canada is a powerhouse in hydrogen production and fuel cell sectors, and this invitation is expected to create synergy through collaboration with Korea. From Canada, 12 government and corporate entities including the Canadian Embassy in Korea, Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association, Alberta Government Energy Department, Ballard Power Systems, and Powertech Labs will participate in the exhibition.
Furthermore, the committee established the ‘H2 Best Product Media Awards’ this year to select outstanding companies participating in H2 MEET. Journalists will directly participate and vote to select the best companies, and after the event, three award-winning companies will be announced.
