"Why Won't They Reduce Divorce Alimony?" 40s Man Wields Weapon at Law Office
Police to Apply for Arrest Warrant Soon
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 40s who wielded a weapon at the office manager of his wife's lawyer during a divorce lawsuit was arrested by the police.
On the 23rd, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that they have detained and are investigating Mr. A (43) on suspicion of attempted murder.
Mr. A is accused of wielding a weapon at the victim, office manager Mr. B, at a law office in Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, around 4:40 p.m. the previous day.
Mr. A, who was in the middle of a divorce lawsuit with his wife, reportedly committed the crime out of dissatisfaction that the wife's lawyer would not reduce the alimony.
Mr. A reported the incident himself immediately after the crime and was arrested on the spot by the responding police officers.

A police official stated, "This is currently under investigation," and added, "We plan to request an arrest warrant."
