Jeju Western Fire Station Conducts Safety Facility Inspection at Beach
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Western Fire Station (Chief Kim Young-ho) announced on the 19th that on the 18th, they visited four beaches in the western region of the province (Gwakji, Hyeopjae, Geumnung, Hwasun) to inspect safety facilities and encourage the 119 Citizen Lifeguard team members assigned as safety personnel.
With the recent prolonged heatwave and the lifting of COVID-19 social distancing measures, the number of visitors to beaches in the province has significantly increased, necessitating special attention to water safety accidents.
Accordingly, every year, firefighters and volunteer firefighters are deployed to designated beaches in the province to prevent safety accidents among vacationers, performing overall safety management duties such as lifesaving and first aid in case of accidents.
Chief Kim Young-ho said, “I appreciate the hard work of the team members who are striving to ensure that beach visitors can spend their summer vacation safely,” and added, “I ask them to carry out their duties faithfully without any safety accidents while being cautious of COVID-19 infection.”
