Earlier, Namyangju City responded to the accident by dispatching about 10 city hall officials to support the initial search efforts immediately after the report was received. Subsequently, firefighting, police, and organizations related to water accidents and rescue were also deployed for the search operation.
Since the 11th, one government vessel and 16 boats and personnel supported by 16 local water leisure businesses have been additionally deployed to accelerate the search.
Currently, civilian volunteers from the Marine Veterans Association, Special Mission Merit Association, Disaster Rescue Association, Bukhang River Water Rescue Team, City Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps, and Volunteer Fire Brigade are conducting searches from Changhyeon 1 Bridge to Muan Bridge, including the area near Dumulmeori, where the Bukhang River converges.
Joo Kwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju-si, said, "I sincerely thank not only the police and fire authorities but also the civilian organizations that have actively contributed manpower and equipment to speed up the search operation. The city will support everything it can at the municipal level."
