Hantoo Securities "MTS Operating Normally" VS. Complaints of "Still Unresponsive" (Comprehensive)
Hantoo Securities MTS Operating Normally
Some Complaints of Service Delays
Compensation Provided for Directly Reported Damages
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] Korea Investment & Securities announced that the stock trading system (trading system), which had been 'down' due to a computer malfunction since the 8th, is operating normally as of 10:58 AM on the 9th.
However, some investors continue to complain that the mobile trading system (MTS) is not functioning properly, displaying messages such as "Information provision delayed."
Korea Investment & Securities stated on the 9th that the MTS and home trading system (HTS), which had been inaccessible due to a computer error since 4 PM the previous day, were all restored to normal operation around 7:15 PM that day.
Korea Investment & Securities issued an urgent notice that on the 8th, an unstable power supply issue occurred in the head office's computer room, prompting an emergency inspection of major systems. Accordingly, from around 4 PM, after the domestic regular market closed, MTS and HTS all went down simultaneously.
Despite this situation, Korea Investment & Securities did not send any notification texts or announcements. Investors were left waiting helplessly, unable to conduct any trades from after-hours trading the previous day through overnight U.S. stock trading. Korea Investment & Securities only posted a message on their YouTube channel, which has about 158,000 subscribers, at 11 PM the previous day, stating "We inform you that we are unable to process orders for the U.S. regular market in August normally," and "We will do our best to restore service before the U.S. market closes, and services and operations will be carried out normally on the same day."
As of 10:58 AM that day, contrary to Korea Investment & Securities' notice that the system is "operating normally," the renewed MTS shows a message during trading saying, "Information provision is delayed. Please try again shortly," indicating it is not functioning properly.
A Korea Investment & Securities official said, "The app is currently operating normally," and added, "It appears to be an issue with individual devices or communication status."

Meanwhile, investors who suffered losses due to this incident must directly report their damages to receive compensation. Korea Investment & Securities stated in a notice that day, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the power supply issue at our company after 4 PM on the 8th, which affected the use of trading systems such as HTS/MTS," and "If you report damages caused by inconvenience in system use by August 12, we will review and take sincere measures."
