[Photo] 'Welcome Back Gwanghwamun Square' Returns to Citizens After 1 Year and 9 Months
The Gwanghwamun Square, which had undergone restructuring construction, has returned to the citizens after 1 year and 9 months. Despite the heavy rain showers in the sweltering heat, the square was continuously visited by citizens. People played in the Myeongnyang Fountain in front of Admiral Yi Sun-sin's statue or gathered in small groups in green spaces such as Haechi Yard and Sejong-ro Park to spend time. The ‘Gwanghwamun Square Bitmorak’ event was also held to celebrate the reopening of the square. Bitmorak means the joy of gathering light, and for 2 hours and 30 minutes, various programs such as an orchestra performance themed on light and harmony, VR drawing based on the 600-year history of Gwanghwamun, and media facade displays delighted the eyes and ears of the citizens. Here are photos from the scene showing citizens spending their weekend at the square and the Bitmorak event.
