Sejong University Department of Physics and Astronomy Hosts Special Lecture by Foreign Scholars
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Sejong University will hold a special lecture on stellar spectroscopy by Professor Christopher Sneden from the University of Texas, USA, for three days from the 8th to the 10th.
According to Sejong University on the 6th, this special lecture was planned by Professor Lee Jae-woo of the Stellar Population Research Lab in the Department of Physics and Astronomy for advanced study in stellar spectroscopy. The lecture will cover topics including an introduction to stellar spectroscopy, the process of spectral line formation in stellar atmospheres, and the analysis of light from stars by ground-based observers.
Professor Sneden conducts research on stellar spectroscopy at the Department of Astronomy, University of Texas. He is known for major studies such as Stellar Spectroscopy and Neutron-capture elements in the early galaxy.
This special lecture, aimed at undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, will be held in English at Sejong University's Yeongsil Hall from the 8th to the 10th. Applications can be submitted online until today.
