The Office of Education recommends that all students in the district complete at least 6 hours annually, and teachers at least 3 hours, of suicide prevention and life respect education training.
For supporting mental health recovery projects, two training sessions were also conducted for teachers on student emotional and behavioral characteristic assessments and for those in charge of fostering a culture of suicide prevention and life respect.
To support students' psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs, early detection of at-risk students, and to explore support measures, training was held on establishing and activating school crisis management committees.
The student life guardian “Visiting Gatekeeper” education for field teachers is composed of six instructors who completed a professional training course, and 923 teachers participated in the first half of the year’s education to recognize students’ risk signals and strengthen student suicide prevention.
The Office of Education operates mental health classrooms within 28 schools to support peer relationships and self-efficacy enhancement programs for students with maladjustment and psychological and emotional difficulties.
The Office also runs cultural and artistic performances using cultural content to help students improve their awareness and coping abilities regarding love for life and respect for life.
These include elementary school sand art, middle school theater and video viewing, and high school musical performances to promote mental health with a spirit of life respect.
To support psychological and emotional stability for both general students and high-risk groups, the “Our Children’s Mental Health Support Center” is also operated.
Through in-depth counseling at the center, mental health-related treatment costs have been supported for 127 individuals, and continuous support is provided to help students quickly return to school and daily life by recovering their mental health.
